Marye E. Bernard, DNP, FNP-BC, AAHIVM

Dr. Bernard is a 1980 graduate of Memphis Catholic High School and a 3-time graduate of The University of Tennessee Health Science Center where she received a BSN (1985), MSN (1991) and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (2012). Dr. Marye Bernard has provided Primary Care, Women’s Health and acute care for close to 30 years. Dr. Bernard is well known for her affectionate provision of care to all people regardless of age, race, gender, sexual orientation or disease states. She is a renowned national speaker with many pharmaceutical companies providing knowledge across the United States. Dr. Bernard is the recipient of many awards and even has an award that’s given annually, named in her honor. She is an educator, with years’ experience as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She has served as a clinical preceptor to many of the Mid-South’s nurse practitioner students and takes great pride in those who she has mentored. Dr. Bernard focus of concern is based on wellness and prevention of disease. Her Philosophy in provision of care is to take care of each individual patient thoroughly and completely as if they are the most important person in the world.

Marshe D. Turner, DNP, ANP-BC, AAHIVM

Dr Turner is a native Memphian and a graduate of Central High School. After high school, she graduated with bachelor’s degrees from LeMoyne-Owen College (Biology) in 1994 and University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Nursing) in 1995. Dr. Turner has served her community as a registered nurse at Regional One Health before obtaining her master’s degree from Union University in 2008. Dr. Turner is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner that has provided excellent primary, preventative and specialty care to members of her community for several years. Dr. Turner was instrumental in obtaining the first Vibration-controlled transient elastography (Fibroscan) equipment to Tennessee. This equipment assisted her in the management of patients with acute and chronic viral hepatitis disease. Dr. Turner has been the leading provider in Memphis for the treatment of viral co-infections. She has encouraged her patients to be active participants in the decision-making process and the setting of treatment goals. Dr. Turner believes this collaborative approach has led to individualized care in which patients feel heard and respected.
